This Privacy Policy explains how Upcyclist ("the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use it on iOS or Android devices. We are committed to transparency and to collecting only the minimum data necessary to operate the App.
The App operates primarily on-device. The only personal data we collect from users is an email address, and only when a user explicitly opts in to our newsletter. The App also uses a small number of third-party services, described below, that may receive limited technical data.
If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is strictly opt-in and is not required to use any feature of the App.
The App allows you to import contacts from your device's address book to associate them with sales records within the App. This feature is entirely user-initiated.

The App requests camera access solely for in-app functionality such as capturing images for use within the App. Camera data is processed in real time on your device only. No images or video are transmitted to any server. You can revoke camera permission at any time in your device Settings.
The App requests access to your device's contacts to enable the optional feature of associating contacts with sales records. The App reads only the contact data you explicitly choose to import. No contact data is shared with any third party or transmitted off your device. You can revoke contacts permission at any time in your device Settings.
The App integrates a small number of third-party services. Each is described below, along with the data it may receive.
When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is transmitted to our email service provider for the sole purpose of sending you communications. Our provider does not use your email for advertising or share it with other parties. You may request deletion of your email from our provider's systems at any time by contacting us.
If the App offers purchases, these are processed through Apple's StoreKit or Google Play Billing depending on your platform. We do not collect or store your payment information. Purchase processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
The App uses Expo EAS Updates to deliver software updates. On launch, the App may transmit limited technical information to Expo's servers, including app version and platform (iOS or Android), to check for available updates. No personal data is included in this transmission. Expo's data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy at expo.dev/privacy.
All data created or processed by the App — such as sales records, imported contacts, or user preferences — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted off it. You may delete this data at any time by clearing App data in your device Settings or by uninstalling the App.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing your email address is your explicit consent at the point of opt-in. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal data. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@turing605.com.
We are committed to complying with applicable privacy laws in all regions where the App is available. If your jurisdiction has specific privacy rights, you may contact us to exercise them.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). The optional newsletter opt-in is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you believe a child has provided us with their email address without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We take reasonable measures to protect the personal data we hold. Email addresses collected via the newsletter opt-in are stored by our email service provider using industry-standard security practices. Because most App data never leaves your device, the security of that data depends primarily on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's data practices change. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App where reasonably practicable. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
